If one is captive to the fast-paced news cycles and social media feeds, Jerusalem might appear to be in a perpetual state of political conflict and social division. While the city has certainly experienced these conditions throughout its long history, there is a far more profound reality on the ground. As one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, perched on a plateau surrounded by the Judean hills, Jerusalem truly feels like the center of the world.

Whether you are traipsing across 2,000-year-old Roman stones in the Old City or walking outside the majestic Ottoman walls and their eight gates, the cultural pull of this city is intoxicating. For a photographer, the beauty of Jerusalem never disappoints; behind every alleyway and ancient door lies a visual narrative of the three great religions that call this place home.

In this collection, I endeavored to capture the intersection of people and places to show that, despite the geopolitical circumstances, an often unseen sense of coexistence and human interconnectivity prevails within this storied city.
